This blog has been put on hold

I've decided to stop posting on this blog for now but I might reactive it when Starcraft 2 is officially announced.

This is mainly due to me starting another project at www.androidmobil.dk, which is a site in Danish blogging about Android mobile phones.

Thanks to everyone who visited this site :-)

Starcraft 2 warm-up part 4

I've found another great match to include in my starcraft 2 warm-up series.

Today's match is between Bisu(P) and Effort (Z). The two players battle it out for 30 minutes with action right from the start. Neither player gives up and they keep harassing each others economy. This game was simply awesome!

Starcraft 2 unit: Immortal

I've decided to post a bit of information about the Starcraft 2 units I am looking forward to seeing in action the most.

Today I'll start with the Starcraft 2 unit: Immortal

The Immortal is a new unit that was not included in the original starcraft. In the starcraft storyline the Protoss homeplanet of Aiur was lost to the zerg and along with that the facilities to produce dragoons.

The few remaining dragoons have now been upgraded into immortals which is quite a different unit.
The main upgrade includes twin phase disruptors and a
very useful shield.
The shield is able to absorb damage well from heavy attacks such as those suffered from a siege tank. The shields downside is that it will not work very well against lesser attacks such as those from marines. This should guarantee a lot of fun with these immortals as they seem likely to really mess up your opponents endgame units if they don't realize you are building an immortal army.
For overall use though the immortal seems to be designed as a long range support unit that will mainly be used as backup.

The immortal has been included in battle report 3 that was recently released.

The following clips show the immortal unit in action against a group of siege tanks (immortals comes into play at 0:45 in the video):

Starcraft 2 death animations

After playing starcraft for years even the most easy to please players can't get a bit tired of the same old death animations. Thankfully Blizzard has decided to improve upon this aspect for Starcraft 2.

As shown over at Blizzard's official Starcraft 2 website, death animations will become vastly more interesting. By clicking this link you'll get transferred to the Blizzard website, where you can watch a video demonstrating the new death animations.

I definitely feel Blizzard is moving in the right direction with these new animations which I hope can keep many players interested in the game.

Starcraft 2 warm-up part 3

I'm back again with part 3 of my starcraft 2 warm-up series.
In case you missed part 1 you can find it here and you can find part 2 here.

This time I've got a battle between Jaedong (Z) vs Fantasy (T) I'd like to show you.
This battle is interesting all the way and it contains a lot great moves including some great use of Queens and their ensnare ability.

You can check out the game here:

This game got me thinking how much a few unit specific abilities can effect the gameplay and now I'm really looking forward to see how much chaos the queens can cause in Starcraft 2.
Some usage of the Queens in Starcraft 2 has been shown in Battle Report 3.

How to sign up for the Starcraft 2 Beta

In case anyone is wondering how they should sign up for the Starcraft 2 beta I'll post a short guide here.

Please note you will need to sign up a blizzard game at their website before you can get a chance to participate in the beta (You have to own a CD-key to do this)!
The following games are supported for this:
StarCraft, StarCraft Battle Chest, StarCraft Anthology, Warcraft III, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, Warcraft Battle Chest, Diablo II, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, Diablo II Battle Chest

Step 1:
First of all you will need to create an account at Blizzards new battle.net homepage if you don't already have one. If you do have an account skip to step 2.
For Europeans that would be https://eu.battle.net/login/ and for Americans the link is https://us.battle.net/login/.

Step 2:
If you already have a game registered under your battle.net account please skip to step 4.
Find the option called "Add a game" which should be located just under "Manage My Games".

Step 3:
At this point you will need to dig out one of your old blizzard games (check the list earlier in this post) and enter the corresponding CD-key in the box. Hit the Add Game button and if you entered a correct key you'll notice the CD-key/game becomes connected to your blizzard account.

Step 4:
Return to the battle.net main page and find the option called "Beta Profile Settings" located under "Manage My Games". Here you'll have to download a small file that tests your system and uploads the info back to your battle.net account.

Step 5:
Make sure you choose the beta categories you are interested in. This is not limited to Starcraft 2 but you'll have the option to enter beta tests of the Diablo universe and the Warcraft universe also.

Step 6:
Keep praying and you might just get lucky and make it into the Starcraft 2 beta! ;-)

Starcraft 2 warm-up part 2

It's time for another Starcraft 2 warm-up. Today I've got a battle between Firebathero(T) Vs July(Z) that I would like to show you.

This battle contains a lot of action and with a zerg build I've never seen before, which really puts pressure on Firebathero and his medic/marines.

Well enough about that I'll just let you watch the game now :-)
You can check it out here:

In case you didn't catch the first part of my Starcraft 2 warm-up please have a look at the following link:
